I am a little sorry for keeping you guys up so late, but I really enjoyed talking to you guys and didn´t really want to end it. I noticed a couple yawns, but I definitely could have kept going longer. It was cool to get to talk your ear off and then listen to whats going on in your lives. Thanks for letting me talk for so long!
My companions are both super cool. I get along well with everybody in the office. I was coughing a little, but I got it to go away pretty quick with a ton of Niquil.
It is kinda hard to have 2 different things to do. I try to not neglect the area or the office, but it does get hard sometimes.
Thanks for the happy birthdays. I know I am way old now huh? Yeah the birthday was a little weird, but the other guys in the office made it super special. Last year was pretty cool. Got that mission call as a birthday present and we got to eat pupusas (which definitely exist down here and are delicious). And now that I´ve had a companion from El Salvador I do appreciate them a little more. I really hope I´m not to bagui next year. I know I´ll be excited to come home, but I for sure won´t let that excitement hurt the remaining part of my mission.
I miss stuff shells but I did get something pretty close. Here in San Pedro we found an UNO chicago grill. Delicious (a little expensive) but very very good. Reminded me of good Italian food and making the "make your own pizza" when I was super little.
You know that I am not worried AT ALL about coming home. I don´t really worry too much about the future and I for sure am not worried about things that are more than a year out hahah. I´m not too worried about money either, I thought I had taken out a lot more from the account is all. I´m gonna start being a little less frugal... look we went to UNO!
I am prepared for the creepiness, but I really hop eyou guys are ready for a weird Christian with strange habits.
Thanks for helping me out with school too. I´m sure in the future I´m gonna really appreciate that.
That´ll be a fun trip when you go back to the USA, you´ll get to see all the cool stuff in the west while your there. But don´t worry. I´ve got a very large amount of space in the back of my mind. I´m not too worried about that kind of stuff (and especially right now).
It´s funny how every time you guys are ready for the long haul, an awesome opportunity comes up. and this Ukraine things sounds like a pretty awesome opportunity for all of you guys.
It is way cool to be able to connect so much with Dad. My mission seems pretty close to how his was so far huh? It´s cool to see some of the same stuff Heavenly Father wanted Dad to learn he wants me to learn as well. It is cool how many things are parallel about our missions. I hope they have the same affects on me as they did on him. I hope I can do a little of that same kind of learning while I´m here.
OK. I love you guys and I hope it´s a good week. Hope the notification at 2 AM doesn´t bug you.
Love,
Elder Stoddard

Luxury (Honduras Style)
[from May 7, 2017]
It´s way weird being in the office... the call came at a weird time too. Basically in my last area I was moving houses, cause that last house was a little garbage... It´s only redeeming factor was that it was about the only house in all of that area with a third floor so we could see the beach. But that was about it. We didn´t have ANY water and we only had one plug and a bunch of extensions cords running all over the house.
So I looked for a new house with my companion and we found one with all the best stuff. It was the only house in the colony with water ALL the time and that was super important to me after a bunch of time without it. So we had spent all of p-day moving ourselves into this new house, we had to pack up our stuff into our suitcases and all that. So after we went and taught for the last couple hours of p-day and came home. I really wanted to take a shower because it had been a long time without that. So I got out of the shower and my comp just handed me the phone and told me that President was on the phone for me. It was kinda cool cause I didn´t have to pack up anything.
The office is different, it kinda feels like I´ve returned to regular life. We have an air conditioned bedroom we go from that to our hot water shower into our air conditioned car and we drive to our air conditioned office where we do office work. Sometimes I have to remind myself I´m not breaking rules- Or I don´t need to ask permission. We can pretty much go anywhere in our mission which is pretty sweet and we can go anywhere in the city of San Pedro Sula (Even though the bigger part of the city is in the other mission).
It´s also kinda weird cause we spend a lot more time focused on other missionaries and very little time teaching. The guys here are all pretty cool. And I am speaking so much English in here, cause the secretarys are always General: Gringo his companion Migration: Latino and the Financial: gringo and his companion Ruta: latino. And then the two AP´s are almost always a latino and a gringo.
My Spanish is not getting very much practice... only on the phone. But I am learning weird real life words that you wouldn´t use in the church, but you would use in a work setting, so I guess that´s pretty cool. I don´t have a ton of time here, but I guess I´ll see how it goes huh?
In this mission it´s called General Secretary instead of the Executive Secretary but it´s probably about the same thing. I think it´s cool that I have Dad to share the cool stuff and trashy stuff cause I know he understands. Anyways, have a good week. May 14th is coming up huh?
Love you,

Silence Broken & A New Assignment
[from May 2, 2017]
(Editor's Note: All we had heard from Christian since April 10 was a 3 line email on April 26 saying he was still alive. So when we did not get an email again for the third week, I wrote and proposed a number of possible explanations, including alien abduction, kidnapping, eloping to Tierra del Fuego, or being too sick to separate himself from a bathroom. Below is his response.)
We baptised someone on april 30th, so that was pretty cool. We just finished dristrict meeting and i'm writing from the stake center real quick. Our chapel does not have súper reliable computers, and thats the only placer we can write from. Thats gonna change right now though... Ive got some news. Last night presidente called me as general secretary, so I will have computer access on P days (everyday really). But anyways... It makes me really sad when I can't email you guys súper well here, but I'm a little bit sad to leave montecristo. Especially after what you told me about the office... But I'm a little stoked to drive the mission's only car every once un a while. Anyways... I love you tons and tell the family I love them tons too. Also p day is saturday for me now just so you know. Im lookinh forward to mothers day!!!
